This Cookie Policy explains how Brontobytes Ltd ("Bronto", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our websites, including bronto.io and any related subdomains (the "Sites"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information to site owners.

Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Bronto) are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website, such as analytics, advertising, and interactive content.

We also use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixels, local storage, and SDKs. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Sites to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. Other cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our visitors to enhance the experience on our Sites. Third parties also serve cookies through our Sites for analytics and other purposes.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

Our cookie banner, powered by Cookiebot, allows you to accept or reject cookies by category. The categories used on our Sites are:

  • Necessary: These cookies are essential for the Sites to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. Without these cookies, services you have asked for cannot be provided.
  • Preferences: These cookies allow our Sites to remember choices you make (such as your language, region, or display preferences) and provide enhanced, more personal features.
  • Statistics: These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our Sites by collecting and reporting information anonymously or in aggregate. We use providers such as Google Analytics and PostHog to measure traffic and improve our content.
  • Marketing: These cookies are used to track visitors across websites and to build a profile of your interests so that we (or third parties) can show you relevant content and advertising. They may be set through our Sites by our advertising partners.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time on our Cookie Settings page, or by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.

4. Third-Party Cookies

In addition to our own cookies, we may also use various third-party cookies to report usage statistics of the Sites, deliver advertisements on and through the Sites, and so on. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager · for site analytics and measurement.
  • PostHog or similar product analytics tools · for understanding feature usage and product engagement.
  • LinkedIn, X, and other social platforms · for embedded content and conversion tracking.
  • HubSpot or similar customer relationship and marketing platforms · for managing communications and form submissions.

These third parties may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your use of our Sites and other websites. This information may be used to provide measurement services, target ads, and analyze the effectiveness of advertising.

5. How You Can Control Cookies

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can exercise your cookie preferences in the following ways:

  • Cookie banner: When you first visit our Sites, you are presented with a Cookiebot consent banner that lets you Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences by category (Preferences, Statistics, Marketing). Necessary cookies are always on as they are required for the site to function.
  • Cookie Settings page: You can change your choices at any time on our Cookie Settings, which lists every cookie in use and lets you reopen the consent banner.
  • Browser settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. You can usually find these settings in the "Options" or "Preferences" menu of your browser.
  • Opt-out tools: For analytics cookies, you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For interest-based advertising, you can visit youronlinechoices.eu (EU) or aboutads.info (US).
  • Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" feature. Because there is not yet an industry standard for how to respond to such signals, our Sites do not currently respond to them.

Please note that if you choose to reject non-essential cookies, you may still use our Sites, though some functionality may be limited.

6. How Long Cookies Stay on Your Device

The length of time a cookie stays on your device depends on whether it is a "persistent" or "session" cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or are deleted.

8. Contact Us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please contact us at privacy@bronto.io.
